Reimagining Public Safety Working Group Communication Lead Melody Faraday has stated in an email that “the Working Group has been meeting weekly. The meetings are not open to the public at this juncture, hence no announcements or streams.”
Farady wrote in an earlier email “The communications team and project managers are preparing to launch our website and community engagement tool, which will serve to host updates, announce any upcoming public forums and town halls, and offer an avenue for the community to post ideas and feedback regarding various elements pertaining to Reimagining Public Safety.”
Farady also noted a forthcoming update about the Working Group at the the August 4th Common Council meeting. It was at that meeting that Ithaca Community Police Board & Common Council member Graham Kerslick briefly addressed concerns regarding the make up of the Reimagining Public Safety Working Group committee.
“Can you tell us, like, roughly how many additional people are kind of going to be involved in giving advice to the Working Group?” Kerslick asked.
“That I don’t know,” Nguyen responded. “I don’t know that anyone knows.”
