Tompkins County Law Enforcement COMPSTAT numbers discussed at the July 15th Public Safety committee meeting show overdoses in July are “double” as compared to the average over last five years. The same week saw eight fatal overdoses in a 72 hour period.
The Tompkins County Medical Examiner declined to comment on the eight fatal overdoses in a three day period. A representative for the Tompkins County Health Department stated that their overdose figures are only updated on either an annual or bi-annual basis.
