In the early hours of November 8th the glass front door of The Commons Market was smashed by a masked individual during an attempted burglary. After breaking the glass and crawling into the business, the individual briefly attempted to open the cash register before noticing the cameras, “panicking” and fleeing empty handed. The glass on the new front door has been replaced with plywood.
Ithaca Police responding to take a report remarked about short staffing, with the normal shift of six officers reduced to only two.
