Burglary Suspect Has Previous Arrests For Grand Larceny, Meth

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca Police Department responded to a burglary alarm in the 500 block of West Seneca Street on Tuesday, March 16th at approximately 12:05 PM. While investigating the alarm, officers stopped a man who had left the area of the alarm in the 300 block of North Meadow Street.

The man, identified as 39-year-old Lawrence Williams Jr., matched the description of multiple recent thefts and burglaries in the City of Ithaca. Williams was subsequently arrested and charged with burglary in the 3rd degree, a class D felony, criminal mischief in the 3rd degree, a class E felony, possession of burglar’s tools, a class A misdemeanor, and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree, also a class A misdemeanor.

Dispatch audio indicates Williams was in possession of Methamphetamine at the time of his arrest.

Williams had previously been arrested in February 2022 for Grand Larceny and in December 2020 for possession of a ‘One Pot’ meth lab in addition to burglary and drug possession.

Williams was arraigned in Ithaca City Court and remanded to the Tompkins County Jail without bail.
