The Tompkins County Mobile Crisis Team (MCT) is not answering calls for assistance from the Ithaca Police Department.
This is reminiscent of a previous incident where the Mobile Crisis Team refused to respond to assist the Ithaca Police Department with a suicidal individual.
Tompkins County’s website states that “MCT is an after-hours emergency and crisis service that provides confidential counseling by phone. Services are available for people of all ages who are considering suicide or struggling with issues such as anxiety, depression, grief, loss, family problems, mental health problems, or addiction. MTC is activated by Law Enforcement Personnel or Crisis Line.“
