Man Threatened With Knife, Murder In Collegetown Menacing

A Cornell Crime Alert describes an incident that occurred at approximately 4:45 AM, December the 8th. According to the alert, the Ithaca Police Department is investigating a menacing complaint which occurred in the 400 block of College Avenue.  The victim reported being chased by a male subject, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, carrying a knife and yelling, “I am going to kill you.”

The 400 block of College Avenue is the heart of Ithaca’s Collegetown area, with Collegetown Bagels, Schwartz Center for the Performing Arts & multiple apartment buildings located on that portion of the street.

The Crime Alert encourages anyone with information related to this crime to contact the Ithaca Police Department at (607) 272-9973. Cornell University Police also urge the community to take steps to protect themselves by walking in groups or using the RAVE Guardian Virtual Escort and by immediately reporting any suspected criminal activity they see by dialing 911 or utilizing the RAVE Guardian app.
