Gunfire was reported in the parking lot of Hotel Ithaca on Cayuga & Clinton street around 10:17 PM Wednesday night. Responding officers recovered both live ammunition and spent shell casings, with witnesses reporting two juveniles fleeing from the area. The shooting occurred one block from Ithaca Police Department headquarters.
An Ithaca Police Department press release indicates officers located evidence of the shooting, including multiple spent bullet casings, along with unexpended rounds of ammunition. Two unidentified males wearing dark clothing were observed by witnesses fleeing from the scene on foot.
Dispatch audio indicates the suspects fled over a fence behind the hotel. Hotel Ithaca does not have camera coverage of their rear parking lot.
