47 year old Donta Tyronn Braxton of Ithaca was arrested following a robbery & assault that occurred at West Village at around 9 PM Friday evening. Ithaca Police were flagged down by a victim who reported being assaulted during an attempted robbery.
The victim stated he was punched in the head and body multiple times while the Braxton was trying to steal his wallet. Immediately prior to this attempted robbery Braxton also broke windows and damaged property while he was attempting to gain entry into the victim’s residence.
Braxton was charged with Attempted Robbery in the 3rd degree, Attempted Assault in the 3rd Degree & Criminal Mischief in Fourth Degree.
Braxton has several previous arrests for theft & robbery, including a 2016 incident where he is alleged to also have stolen a man’s wallet.
